Pier 2620
This 4-star boutique Lifestyle hotel located in the historic Fisherman’s Wharf district of San Francisco went through a 234 Guestroom renovation featuring 6 Specialty Suites. The goal was to borrow the language of the rough and raw elements seen throughout the Wharf’s shipyard into the Guest experience. This was accomplished with custom light fixtures incorporating nostalgic exposed LED bulbs with unique glass and caged components, blackened and brushed bronze metals and rivet details pulling the exterior indoors and evoking the hotel’s industrialized surroundings. Original art, fabrics, and a cool neutral color scheme with minimal primary color accents help soften the hotel’s overall atmosphere.
Artwork in the Suites features original photography of neon signage found in San Francisco’s iconic Chinatown neighborhood. In a nod to the Wharf’s imagery, Guestroom artwork is composed of metal and wood plank materials with distressed painted signage and exposed edges. Artists from Chicago’s non-profit organization Project Onward created glitter-ized San Franciscan street cars, miniature water towers, and other objects, as seen displayed on the Suites’ built-in entertainment unit and throughout the Guestrooms.
